I thoroughly enjoyed registering in Westbrook and voting this morning. It's been a while since I've been able to vote in person for a November election. I did feel a little selfish voting today after having made so many phone calls urging others to vote early against Question 1, but there's just something special about the ritual of election day.
In case you're wondering, here are the averages of the percentage predictions from the election betting pool (yes, apparently some people can't add):
Question 1: Yes 48 No 52
Question 2: Yes 45 No 54
Question 3: Yes 46 No 53
Question 4: Yes 48 No 52
Question 5: Yes 53 No 47
Question 6: Yes 59 No 41
Question 7: Yes 60 No 41
In other news:
Early reports are of steady turnout throughout the state.
#VoteNoOn1 is a trending topic on Twitter.
Protect Maine Equality is promising a live feed of their election night party starting at 8pm. It's likely that several Maine TV stations (and the national news networks) will also have live coverage online.
I'll be spending the rest of my afternoon making GOTV calls against TABOR. Every little bit helps.
