Senators Snowe and Collins joined fellow Republican Senators Kit Bond, George Voinovich and newly elected Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown in breaking with their party to vote down a filibuster.

Voting to override the filibuster is a definite display fiscal irresponsibility. To vote to waste taxpayer money allowing $8 billion dollars in earmarks simply to pass a bill is wrong.
All Earmarks should be removed from all future Federal budgets. If the States want these pet projects in their states the federal government should collect less tax and allow them to pay for their own wasteful spending.
America simply cannot afford wasteful Politian’s anymore.
If this is voted in the American people should make note of this and vote out the politicians who show wasteful fiscal irresponsibility
