Senator McCain arrived in Maine last night on what is mostly a fundraising trip. He'll be visiting the Bush compound in Kennebunkport later today.
Congressman Michaud, who isn't burdened with much of a re-election fight (his opponent seems content to spend his own money playing dress-up), welcomed the senator with an op-ed in the Portland Press Herald.
As Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain dines at the Bush compound in Kennebunkport today, I'd like to send this message from the hardworking people of Maine: The last thing Maine needs is a third Bush term.
The Obama campaign welcomed McCain in their own way, by ignoring him and announcing the opening of new offices in Auburn and Bangor.
One last note on John Frary, the Republican candidate in the second district with a penchant for old-timey clothing: as old and cantankerous as he may appear, he's actually four years younger than McCain.

"he's actually four years younger than McCain."
John McCain is 72. I would qualify anything after 60 as old. I also think that Frary is 67 not 68.
