At Down East today, I take a long look at Les Otten's campaign and the controversy over his website. It turns out his campaign site isn't the first time he's borrowed someone else's logo. Here's a hint:

On a related note, I'm very sorry to hear that Lorie Costigan, Down East's online editor, has been let go from the company for financial reasons. In our conversations, she always showed a deep commitment to the future of journalism in Maine and she has done a great job creating a vibrant website which now hosts a long list of essential Maine blogs.





Les Otten website fiasco
Another great commentary on "this whole mess", which is the phrase I've just coined for it. I wonder how much messier this whole thing can get before Otten's campaign just implodes.
I was amazed after the Augusta Insider and I first picked up on this how quickly it spread. Within days I saw a CNN piece on it. Frankly, at this point I'm ready to see this and Otten go away. Has anyone printed some "Less Otten" bumper stickers yet. If you have I'd like to see them!

He's also stealing the Red Sox championship glory by pretending his 1 or 2 per cent ownership personally won them Game 7 of the ALCS. Is he really that arrogant or does he just believe we're that stupid?
